PRIVACY
Your previews stay in your browser.
LinkPeek has no account system, analytics, advertising, or LinkPeek backend. Balanced mode may request a small number of nearby destinations before you hover so their previews are ready. Those requests go directly to the destination and its media host. You can turn prefetching off.
Network
Balanced mode shallow-checks nearby links. Only the link under the pointer can begin same-site fallback during the hover delay, up to six total pages. It prepares the first viewing set immediately, then can warm up to 60 thumbnails in small idle batches. Data Saver and constrained connections disable that background work.
Storage
Preferences and saved-link metadata live in browser extension storage. Scan and GIF caches are held in memory and use configured limits.
Permissions
Host access fetches preview destinations, storage saves preferences, and downloads supports explicit original-media downloads.
LinkPeek does not send destination URLs, settings, scan results, or browsing history to REX Technologies.
