A Windows media player whose engine is REX code: format readers that recognise media by its bytes, a media session with a single-threaded command mailbox and sample-accurate seeking, its own MP3 and FLAC decoders, gapless playback, and its own resampler and mixer. A WinUI window shows video decoded on the graphics card, with subtitles, an equaliser, playback speed, visualisations, a playlist, full screen and snapshots, and one window takes everything you open. Patented codecs decode through Windows; everything else is written here.
Every line of the engine is covered by tests on each change, including exact-sample checks of what was played, and the window itself is driven through UI Automation in CI.
